The Minister for Planning has received a request from Spiire, on behalf of Melton Renewable Energy Hub Pty Ltd, to prepare, adopt and approve Amendment C225melt to the Melton Planning Scheme by exercising his powers under section 20(4) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
The Minister for Planning has completed consultation under section 20(5) of the Act, and all submissions will be taken into consideration during the assessment of the proposal. The Minister for Planning will make a decision in due course.
- The amendment seeks to facilitate the use and development of the land for the Melton Renewable Energy Hub (MREH), including a battery energy storage system, solar energy facility, powerline and native vegetation removal.
- The amendment would allow the land to be used and developed in accordance with conditions in an incorporated document.
- The draft development plans provide an overview of the general form and layout of the proposed development.
